Surgical Technician Specialist

Key ResponsibilitiesEDUCATION:
Completion of an accredited Surgical Technician program is required. Certification is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience is acquired through educational training and documented on a skill checklist that is regularly updated for each individual.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
COMPETENCY:
Experience in Orthopedics is highly preferred, along with knowledge in Otorhinolaryngology, Urology, General/Gynecology, Neurology, and Cardiovascular fields. Cardiothoracic experience is also preferred.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
Understanding of aseptic techniques, surgical procedures, equipment preparation, operation, and maintenance, as well as patient and staff safety protocols.

Effective communication and collaboration with various personnel levels
Physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting
Awareness of potential exposure to cuts, burns, infections, biohazardous materials, and x-rays
License or Certification:
Must maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Additional specialty certifications or training may be required based on the work area.
