Job Description:
As a Store Operations Director, you'll be responsible for assisting the store manager in leading teams, planning, implementing, and executing merchandising and operating initiatives. You'll work closely with department heads and associates to identify store opportunities, develop timely solutions, and create action plans to ensure plan implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist store manager in achieving a favorable customer shopping experience and develop associate interest in customer service/relations to enhance Kroger's best-in-class reputation.
- Lead teams in planning, implementing, and executing merchandising and operating initiatives.
- Work with department managers to produce and maximize sales and profits, reduce shrink, and improve each store department's contribution.
- Analyze and respond to the competitive landscape within the district/division.

- Assist store manager in regular store-level financial performance discussions with associates regarding developing budgets and other targeted goals.
- Demonstrate inclusionary leadership and expect inclusive behavior from associates.
- Utilize coordinators and other field staff to ensure store departments achieve sales/profit goals and ensure implementation/execution of division merchandising plans.
- Promote and support strong relationships with local community organizations in the store's surrounding area.
- Assist in building proactive/productive relationships with union representatives/business agents if the store is covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
- Communicate necessary information to associates to help them effectively carry out their duties.
- Serve as a liaison to store/district managers and coordinators on the effectiveness of division merchandising and operational plans/programs.
Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED
- 1 year of experience as a department manager, service manager, or equivalent experience
- Store manager/district manager or direct manager approval
Desired Qualifications:
- Retail management experience and knowledge of all aspects of store operations
- Staff supervisory experience
Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $110,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for growth and development.
