Position Overview:

The role of a Virtual Medical Receptionist is crucial in ensuring the efficient operation of our healthcare services. Texas Health Action (THA) is a non-profit organization committed to delivering culturally sensitive health services, particularly to LGBTQIA+ individuals and those affected by HIV.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for patients through various communication channels including phone, text, and email.
  • Register patients following established guidelines and maintain accurate demographic information.
  • Manage the daily schedule for the virtual clinic, confirming appointments and ensuring all necessary pre-registration forms are completed.
  • Provide patients with information regarding office procedures and policies.
  • Safeguard patient confidentiality and uphold privacy standards.
  • Assist in resolving patient inquiries and complaints, escalating issues to leadership when necessary.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to team-building activities.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a medical environment, preferably in a call center or front desk role.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures is essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software applications.
  • Bilingual candidates (English and Spanish) are preferred.

Compensation:
This position falls within salary band 37, offering an hourly rate of $20.80, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
