Norfolk, Virginia, United States Trispoke managed services Full time
Job Overview

As a Supply Chain Coordinator II, you will play a pivotal role in managing material procurement and supplier interactions. Your primary responsibility will be to gather pricing and availability details from suppliers for necessary materials, ensuring that you are aware of materials classified as Long Lead Time Material (LLTM) and identifying them as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate Pre-Proposal Inquiries (PPI), Requests for Clarification (RFC), and Inspection/Deficiency Reports (IDR) as required, particularly concerning government and customer-provided information.
  • Review and respond to all correspondence, taking appropriate actions.
  • Collaborate with trades to ensure that material estimates and requisitions are accurate in terms of size, type, and quantity to support production efforts.
  • Engage with trades to address questions, identify issues, and resolve problems, ensuring the delivery of a quality product.
  • Ensure all estimates are complete, accurate, and submitted on time, while being mindful of schedules to communicate required need dates to vendors.
  • Work closely with the Purchasing Department to provide cost and supplier information, including Requests for Quotes (RFQ) for Buyers.
  • Maintain frequent communication with Labor Estimators, Buyers, Ship Superintendents, Craft Supervisors, and Craft Personnel, as well as outside material suppliers.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, demonstrating the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Qualifications

You should possess the knowledge and skills to interpret technical drawings, manuals, and specifications to develop material estimates for repairs on naval and commercial vessels. Additionally, you will be responsible for creating material estimates for new projects arising from inspection reports, deficiency reports, and contract modifications.

Your ability to deliver efficient and effective solutions to meet production needs is crucial. You will also be tasked with identifying and selecting vendors to procure materials, ensuring they meet criteria such as price, quantity, quality, and delivery timelines.

Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers is essential to ensure that material demands are met and deliveries are punctual. You will also develop and implement processes while collaborating with suppliers on continuous improvement initiatives. Supporting supplier assessments and sourcing in conjunction with the purchasing team is expected, along with participating in supplier meetings and negotiations to ensure material demands are fulfilled.

Lastly, you will be responsible for resolving supplier concerns and evaluating supplier performance in collaboration with the purchasing team.
