Position Overview:

We are in search of a dedicated and detail-oriented scientific professional who is passionate about the development and innovation of lubricant and fuel additive products. As a Lead Lubricant Research Scientist, you will spearhead the creation of high-performance lubricant formulations and guide them through the commercialization process. Your role will involve identifying new avenues for growth and transforming ideas into tangible products or process enhancements that will bolster our expanding business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of new product and process development projects.
  • Formulate and specify product requirements and processing parameters in the laboratory for new products and enhancements.
  • Establish and conduct testing protocols to meet performance standards.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing process instructions, focusing on continuous improvement.
  • Explore and evaluate new raw materials for performance enhancement, cost efficiency, and compliance with regulations.
  • Act as a technical authority in at least two areas of industrial applications.
  • Guide junior scientists by sharing insights from past experiences.
  • Gather, analyze, and present data to relevant stakeholders.
  • Conduct field observations as necessary and relay findings to laboratory teams.
  • Utilize laboratory software systems for data management and reference.
  • Address product non-conformities and ensure adherence to quality standards, both domestically and internationally.
  • Manage and communicate risks associated with product initiatives and processes.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve project milestones.
  • Stay updated on the latest technological advancements.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate safety and ISO standards.
  • Mentor team members on laboratory procedures and instrumentation.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
  • 5-15 years of experience in a laboratory environment focused on greases, lubricants, or fuel additives.
  • In-depth knowledge of lubricant chemistry, testing methodologies, and production processes.
  • Familiarity with tribology and rheology is preferred.
  • Self-motivated with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A quick learner who is adaptable and able to assimilate new information efficiently.
  • Demonstrated ability to research and apply new scientific knowledge.
