Position Summary:


As the Program Manager I for Young Adults in Transition, you will oversee the service delivery and facility management at the Young Adult Transitional Living Program (TLP) within the YMCA of Greater Seattle's Administrative Office.

The YMCA of Greater Seattle is responsible for the TLP facility, which comprises 20 residential units and two offsite shared homes with 5 units each.

This program caters to young adults aged 18-24 in a supportive living environment.

We seek an individual who is solution-oriented, focused on housing stability, and passionate about empowering young adults to create a positive and nurturing atmosphere that fosters stability and goal achievement.


This role will be instrumental in developing and maintaining program consistency while providing guidance and support to program staff.

You will supervise a team of Case Managers and two Resident Managers who deliver client-centered case management services.

Your responsibilities will include overseeing all contractual obligations and case management initiatives, leading program development efforts, coordinating community service provider engagement, managing volunteer support, and cultivating relationships with local businesses and resources.

The Program Manager will supervise staff available on-site 24 hours a day. Occasional evening, weekend, and overnight duties may be required. The ability to work from various locations within the region will also be expected.

This position will collaborate closely with the Director of Facility-Based Housing & Homeless Services to manage and implement the programmatic vision and philosophy.

This role is part of the Social Impact Center Y, the social services division of the YMCA of Greater Seattle.

The mission of the Social Impact Center Y is to empower young individuals to build safe, successful, and fulfilling lives.

The Social Impact Center Y's offerings include housing, behavioral health, foster care licensing, violence prevention, education, and employment services.

Many of the young individuals we support have experienced involvement with the foster care, criminal justice, and homelessness systems.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee contracts to ensure compliance with budgetary and programmatic standards
- Develop new program activities and expand community opportunities in alignment with strategic plans.
- Recruit, hire, train, evaluate, and supervise housing case managers and volunteers.
- Provide one-on-one supervision and facilitate monthly team meetings.


Advise senior management on critical decisions related to housing and homeless services that align with the strategic vision and values of the organization.


Identify new strategic opportunities to enhance housing and homeless services, including researching grant opportunities and building partnerships with funders.

Foster relationships with housing and homeless services programs and staff within the community.
- Incorporate youth and young adult feedback into programming, ensuring their voices are heard.


Compile program statistics and generate reports to monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and participation.

Provide leadership and support for the Social Impact Center's leadership team with project management and additional support in the community.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations, schools, and agencies focused on youth and young adult support.
- Create, produce, and disseminate program information to promote services, adhering to branch marketing guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and YMCA training requirements.
- Maintain high-quality programming through innovative development, evaluations, and ongoing staff training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This role will be based at our administrative office. The position is full-time exempt with a standard schedule of Monday to Friday during regular business hours. Occasional weekends, overnight shifts, and flexible coverage may be required.

The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands for various tasks, and reach with hands and arms.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

This position may require the ability to occasionally lift office supplies and materials, up to 20 pounds.

Qualifications:


A bachelor's degree or higher in psychology, social services, or a related field, or a combination of education, experience, and measurable performance demonstrating the capability to fulfill the duties of this position.

5+ years of professional or volunteer experience working with high-risk, system-involved youth and/or young adults, or equivalent community-based service experience.

2+ years of leadership and supervisory experience with teams, individual staff, or volunteers.

Experience in program development, leadership development, contract management, and financial oversight.

Knowledge of youth behavior management and abuse prevention practices.

Proven project management skills with a track record of meeting deliverables within timelines.

Broad understanding of program areas, funding sources, and community partners.

Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting deadlines.

Sound judgment and problem-solving skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.


Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team and develop positive working relationships in a team-oriented environment.

Ability to work independently.

Preferred knowledge of and experience with diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.).

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

A master's degree in social work, social services, or a closely related field.

Other relevant education, training, and experience that provide the necessary knowledge, abilities, and skills to perform effectively in this role will be considered.


Life experience with poverty, child welfare, homelessness, behavioral health, or youth violence, coupled with a desire to leverage that experience to improve the lives of others.

The ability to communicate in any language in addition to English.
