Position Overview

The University of Maryland, Robert H. Smith School of Business is in search of a Salesforce Integration Specialist to enhance our IT team. This role will report to the Director of IT and is pivotal in supporting agile teams that implement Salesforce-driven solutions with tailored integrations to various systems utilizing Informatica and other third-party integration/ETL tools such as Pentaho, FormAssembly, and MuleSoft. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background with expertise in data integration and Salesforce development, along with extensive experience in integration tools and a solid understanding of Salesforce architecture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist agile teams in deploying Salesforce-based solutions with custom integrations to external systems using Informatica and other third-party integration/ETL tools.
  • Contribute to application development leveraging SQL, SOQL/SOSL, and Lightning Web Components.
  • Create and disseminate SFDC-based reports and dashboards for various internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain SFDC-based portals for specific staff groups.
  • Design and sustain Lightning Apps for community engagement.
  • Enhance and optimize EDA and custom object schema to align with our operational needs.
  • Adhere to industry best practices for change and release management.
  • Engage in continuous improvement by monitoring systems and recommending adjustments beneficial to staff and students.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned to support the objectives of the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Experience:
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Salesforce and/or ASP.NET Development.
  • At least 2 years of ETL/integration experience with Informatica, MuleSoft, or similar tools.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • SOAP or REST API Design and Development;
    • Salesforce APIs and SOQL/SOSL;
    • Collaborating effectively with both technical and non-technical team members;
    • Translating prioritized needs into well-structured scalable solutions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Understanding of the capabilities and limitations of the Salesforce application as it pertains to business processes.
  • Familiarity with Systems and Process Integration Design and Development.
  • Proficiency in declarative tools within Salesforce, including all process automation tools.
  • Knowledge of EDA.
  • Awareness of Salesforce's data security model.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional Salesforce Platform Developer certifications are advantageous.
  • Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder credential.
  • Experience with external system integrations.
  • Experience with Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and Communities.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, including working within a sprint framework.
  • Experience in higher education is a plus.
  • Strong project management skills are desirable.
