Job Summary

The Building Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of facility equipment and systems. This includes electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and central utility plant operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on technical expertise and be multi-skilled in multiple areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, monitoring, and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems.
  • Maintain responsibility for facility services, preventative maintenance, purchasing, and inventory control.
  • Respond to emergencies in a timely manner.
  • Prepare reports, maintain inventories, and keep accurate records.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of computer applications, including Word and Excel.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent, with two years of trades schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration, and HVAC.
  • Certification as a Universal Technician for CFC's (or within 90 days of employment).
  • Minimum of 5 years of applicable working experience in building repair and maintenance, plumbing, and electrical.

Working Conditions

The Building Maintenance Specialist will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and driving. A valid state driver's license is required.
