Responsibilities:

This role involves providing supervision for our clients, ensuring their safety, and building a rapport with them. You will also be responsible for providing assistance to each client during school and handling individual problems; setting limits for behavior; creating documentation of the clients progress; identifying the possible need for professional services and communicating such findings to professional staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside teacher pairs to grade written assignments or teacher-scored assessments.
  • Monitor and collect data for each client, including maintaining an Excel spreadsheet for academic progress, taking attendance, and assisting with daily check-ins and goal setting forms.
  • Draft weekly progress reports, which will be sent out by the classroom teacher.
  • Input case notes into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) prior to treatment team meetings.
  • Collect classroom inventory - school supplies, paper, pencils, etc.
  • Practice compliance with all policies and record-keeping requirements.
  • Remain current and up to date on all trainings (HealthStream, CPR, CPI, etc.) and certifications required to maintain employment with Newport Healthcare.
Qualifications:
  • A High School Degree or GED is required, with a Bachelor's level degree in a related field, preferably in Mathematics or Science.
  • Prior work experience in other behavioral health treatment settings with adolescents is a plus.
