Job Responsibilities

As a Cost Accountant, you will be responsible for:

  • Planning, studying, and collecting data to determine costs of business activity, such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor.
  • Analyzing changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided, to determine effects on costs and drivers of margin impacts.
  • Analyzing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing month to month, quarter to quarter, and year over year analysis for product lines.
  • Analyzing project costs, estimates, and budgets.
  • Providing management with reports specifying and comparing factors, affecting prices, and profitability of products or services.
  • Assisting in accounting closing and preparation of financial statements each month.
  • Assisting in audits, including DCMA, customer proposal pre and post awards, and annual financial audit.
  • Assisting in preparing billings for cost-type contracts.
  • Maintaining Fixed Assets schedules.
  • Reviewing daily transactions, including part maintenance, kitting transactions, production receipts, etc.
