Veterinary Technician Lead

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician Supervisor to join our team at VCA Animal Hospitals.
As a Veterinary Technician Supervisor, you will be responsible for directing workflow on the floor, cultivating an engaging work environment, and maintaining our strong hospital culture.
You will work closely with hospital management and supervisory teams to aid in the progression of the hospital, assist with the interview process for potential new hires, and onboard all new associates.
Additionally, you will help with the educational development of technicians and their skills, conduct staff meetings, and provide opportunities for staff to gain more firsthand experience.
Key qualifications for this role include 5+ years of clinical experience, team leadership experience, and a passion for veterinary medicine.

Responsibilities:
- Directing workflow on the floor
- Cultivating an engaging work environment and maintaining our strong hospital culture
- Working closely with hospital management and supervisory teams to aid in the progression of the hospital
- Assisting with the interview process for potential new hires and onboarding all new associates
- Helping with the educational development of technicians and their skills
- Conducting staff meetings
- Providing opportunities for staff to gain more firsthand experience
- Mentoring Assistants/Technicians within the department
- Resolving conflicts in a professional and humble manner
- Refining and implementing protocols
- Ensuring that VCA policies, guidelines, and recommendations are implemented by all members of the technical staff
Requirements:
- Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, RVT, LVMT)
- 5+ years of clinical experience
- Team leadership experience
- Passion for veterinary medicine
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
