Job Summary:

The Risk and Control Analyst will support the Consumer Direct and Third-Party Origination Channels for Lakeview Loan Servicing, LLC. This role is responsible for coordinating with stakeholders on the development of and documentation of risks and controls for Policy and Procedures, processes, and assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and insight on risk and the business lines adherence and monitoring of those controls
  • Maintain and update the First Line of Defense Risk Register, Process Library and the Control Library
  • Regularly interact with business partners including Credit Policy, Compliance, Internal Audit and Risk Management colleagues to ensure appropriate risk tolerance and mitigation measures are in place
  • Consult with stakeholders and make recommendations for reducing risks within acceptable tolerance levels
  • Conduct gap analysis and scoring of risk and controls utilizing established First Line of Defense framework
  • Meet with third parties as necessary to discuss issues and/or action plans
  • Work with internal IT resources to prioritize tickets based on issue severity
  • Work with Risk and Compliance Management to develop framework for requesting a Risk Assessment
  • Manage all risk assessments through documenting and facilitating the life cycle of risk issues
  • Partner with stakeholders to identify root cause and develop action plans ensuring all action plan deadlines are met in a timely manner
  • Create and maintain risk and issue reporting
  • Complete special tasks as assigned by manager as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Finance, Accounting, or related field is preferred
  • Minimum 8 years mortgage industry experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Credit Policy, Risk Management, or Underwriting
  • Thorough understanding of mortgage origination from beginning to end
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to be self-directed and make independent decisions
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to handle, touch, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to talk and hear. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms. The employee is rarely required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
