Job Title: Field Sales Representative

TTI, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Field Sales Representative to join our team in Austin, TX. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for selling company products and services to assigned customers in their territory.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sell company products and services by generating leads and calling on assigned customer accounts, delivering samples, product line cards, and sales literature to customers and prospective customers.
  • Establish and maintain effective business relationships with customer purchasing and management staff by ensuring all aspects of transactions are handled in a professional, ethical, and timely manner.
  • Pursue new business leads by using all available resources, including reps, trade shows, networking, manufacturers, the internet, and TTI internal resources.
  • Facilitate follow-through on every level of the sales cycle by keeping in touch with customers, inside sales, manufacturers, sample requests, quotes, and ensuring that everything is complete, timely, and meets customer expectations.
  • Attend quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with suppliers and regular meetings with internal management to understand business outlooks and opportunities.
  • Ensure timeliness of price quotes meets customer deadlines by working with TTI personnel to gather accurate product and delivery information.
  • Work closely with Account Representatives to ensure customers receive the highest level of customer service and support.
  • Strategize with company management on large customer quotes to negotiate price and delivery terms, offering the best deal for the customer and maximizing profit for TTI.
  • Negotiate special pricing from suppliers by exposing business opportunities during the quote process.
  • Answer and resolve customer questions, problems, and complaints by responding to contacts, resolving issues, and following through in a timely manner.
  • Entertain customers in the normal course of business to aid in negotiations and show appreciation for business.
  • Maintain market awareness of competitor activities, industry trends, and new concepts by reading industry periodicals, networking, attending periodic update training events, and trade shows.
  • Report daily itineraries to branch management by submitting details on appointments, including customers visited, topics discussed, and locations.
  • Participate in the TTI Total Quality Program by supporting the importance of quality, ensuring defined processes are followed, proofing orders and company documents for errors, and identifying areas for process improvement.
Requirements:
  • Degree from a four-year college or university preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of engineering and/or component sales experience preferred, with a progression from inside sales or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills and Certifications:
  • Possesses thorough knowledge and understanding of sales, purchasing, product, vendors, warehousing, branch operations, and systems.
  • Exhibits exceptional knowledge of company products and services.
  • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills, including excellent presentation skills.
  • Exhibits strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Must be organized and able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to present complex topics effectively to senior management, public groups, and boards of directors.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to calculate discounts, interests, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, articles, and presentations proficiently and professionally.
  • Reads, analyzes, and interprets business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations.
  • Able to work with minimum supervision and make responsible, independent decisions.
  • Possesses working knowledge of company policies, procedures, and computer systems.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, a safe driving record, and be insurable by the company's liability carrier.
  • Requires some travel, with the amount varying depending on the territory assigned.
  • Ability to type 40 words per minute.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) at a basic level required.
  • Must be able to carry up to 10 pounds without assistance.
