Overview:

The Staff Nurse Resource Pool II is responsible for delivering nursing care that necessitates specialized expertise, judgment, and skills rooted in the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences. This role involves providing clinical nursing services across various units and locations, tailored to the dynamic needs of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conducts assessments, formulates plans, implements, evaluates, and oversees nursing care with an emphasis on family-centered approaches for individual or groups of patients within the designated scope of practice.

2. Exhibits the knowledge and skills essential for addressing the physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety requirements of patients across all age groups and developmental stages.

3. Engages in leadership and professional responsibilities.

4. Delivers patient-centered care.

5. Involves in quality improvement and safety initiatives.

6. Contributes to the educational development of staff regarding clinically relevant topics. May mentor new hires and serve as a guide for clinical personnel.

7. Engages in evidence-based practice.

8. Collaborates with provider staff to enhance operational efficiency and ensure quality care, focusing on exceptional service for pediatric patients through a team-oriented approach.

9. Participates in systems-based practice.

10. Utilizes informatics and technology in nursing duties.

11. May be temporarily assigned to various areas within the Akron Children's Hospital network, based on patient care needs requiring similar expertise.

Additional responsibilities as needed.

Technical Qualifications:

1. Proven ability to lead, guide, and inspire fellow staff members, emphasizing teamwork to deliver quality service to patients and their families.

2. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.

3. Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication abilities are required.

4. Strong organizational skills are necessary.

5. Capability to perform well under pressure, prioritizing and completing tasks accurately and timely.

6. Experience interacting with various organizational levels is essential.

7. Background in healthcare is preferred.

8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is required.

9. Familiarity with electronic medical record systems (e.g., EPIC) or similar software is preferred.

Education and Experience Requirements:

1. Education: A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required or must be obtained within five years of hire.

2. Current certification in Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association is mandatory. Additional certifications may be required based on departmental needs, including ACLS, NRP, and PALS, which must be acquired within one year of hire.

3. Active licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Ohio is required.

4. Minimum of two years of relevant nursing experience is required.

5. No supervisory experience is necessary.
