ASCO Equipment is seeking Heavy Machinery Maintenance Specialists. Opportunities are available in both shop and field settings.
Preferred experience includes Diesel Engines, Hydraulics, or Advanced Electronics; however, we provide on-the-job training for entry-level candidates.
The Maintenance Specialist is tasked with delivering high-quality repair services on heavy machinery to fulfill customer requirements in a responsive, friendly, knowledgeable, and timely manner.
Maintenance Specialists collaborate with all departments to address customer needs. ASCO Equipment offers a competitive pay scale that rewards Maintenance Specialists based on their experience, technical skills, and work ethic.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Diagnose and execute complex repairs accurately in the shop or field, including pumps, hydraulics, engines, transmissions, HVAC, and electrical systems.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment as per schedule.
- Complete work orders promptly.
- Maintain open communication with the service manager.
- Keep daily truck inspection logs and ensure a clean and organized truck and work area.
- Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills for daily reporting.
- Demonstrate good computer literacy for transmitting information via email.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in heavy machinery troubleshooting and repair.
- Technical Certifications or an Associate's Degree preferred.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical theories and principles.
- Ability to work within set timeframes, multitask, and adhere to procedures.
- Capability to work with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment.
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships and professionally handle challenging situations.
- Must be able to obtain a forklift license.
- Must provide tools suitable for heavy machinery repair.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to maneuver around and crawl under equipment to perform repairs.
- Capability to work safely in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift and handle heavy loads up to 55 lbs.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment both visually and audibly.
