We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Laboratory Control Technician to join our team at Brigham and Women's Hospital. As a Laboratory Control Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory operations area.
Key Responsibilities- Process specimens for testing, including accessioning, labeling, and forwarding to testing areas.
- Manage the receipt, sorting, and prioritization of all samples arriving in the laboratory control area.
- Ensure the timely processing and distribution of specimens to various laboratories.
- Perform troubleshooting duties for coordinators and clinicians, and provide technical support as needed.
- Assist with workflow issues, scheduling, and training of staff members.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, and ensure compliance with laboratory policies and procedures.
- Previous experience in laboratory specimen processing or a related field.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures and terminology.
- Ability to interpret laboratory requisitions and provide technical support as needed.
This is a full-time position that requires working in a laboratory environment with frequent exposure to chemicals, biological agents, and other hazardous materials. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in a team environment and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
