Job Title: Histocompatibility Laboratory Specialist

Our client in the Boston area is seeking an experienced Histocompatibility Laboratory Specialist to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a premier healthcare system and one of the top employers in Massachusetts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor lab performance and regulatory compliance, ensuring accuracy and quality in daily, weekly, monthly, and annual surveillance documents.
  • Develop and implement remedial action plans to address any failures, working closely with supervisors, technical directors, and division leadership.
  • Plan and provide HLA-specific continuing education for staff, ensuring compliance with annual requirements.
  • Work a day shift from 7:30 am to 4 pm.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in biological or chemical science, medical technology, or clinical laboratory science.
  • Certified Histocompatibility Specialist (CHS) certification required.
  • Minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in a Histocompatibility testing environment, with at least one to three years in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Two or more years of prior experience in a supervisory capacity or in a project management or quality role in a histocompatibility testing setting.
  • At least one to three years in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in all areas of a histocompatibility laboratory accredited for solid organ and bone marrow transplantation.
  • Competence with antibody screening and analysis.
  • PCR-based typing experience (rSSO, SSP, SBT, or NGS).
  • Troubleshooting experience with assays and equipment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of flow cytometry equipment, assays, and analysis.
