Job Overview

Carter Lumber is a leading building materials supplier seeking a highly motivated Inside Sales Representative to join our team. As an Inside Sales Representative, you will be the face of our store, providing exceptional customer service and sales expertise to our customers.

About the Role

This Inside Sales Rep opportunity is ideal for individuals with a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a passion for sales. You will have the chance to develop strong relationships with customers, identify their needs, and provide solutions by offering consultative sales.

Responsibilities
  • Greet customers as they enter the store, providing a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
  • Accurately and efficiently complete all sales transactions, ensuring timely and efficient service.
  • Work with customers to identify and meet their product needs, providing expert advice and recommendations.
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding product information, orders, pricing, and provide follow-up support when necessary.
  • Accept payments and apply them correctly to the customer's account.
  • Answer phones when necessary, ensuring prompt and professional communication.
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of all existing and new product lines.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of pricing, inventory, promotions, and advertisements.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, meeting customer needs promptly and efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment, ensuring a safe and welcoming space for customers.
  • Assist with conducting physical inventory, maintaining accurate records and reports.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalency required.
  • Previous experience in consultative sales or a related field preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills and excellent verbal communication abilities.
  • At least 2 years of experience in retail sales or a related field.
  • Strong interest in learning building material product lines.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to pass drug and background screening.
