Job Overview

General Summary: This role is essential for managing daily operations at the convenience store and gas station while ensuring excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome all patrons, delivering prompt, efficient, and friendly service with care and patience in every interaction, whether in-person or over the phone.
  • Assist customers in locating products, securing items, and loading or unloading merchandise as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment both inside and outside, including restrooms, countertops, and floors.
  • Receive, verify, and properly store incoming merchandise in designated areas.
  • Unpack and stock shelves and coolers with products as directed.
  • Ensure cleanliness of registers, restrooms, break rooms, and backrooms; sweep and mop floors, and manage supply needs.
  • Oversee proper maintenance of the lot; clear snow from sidewalks, apply ice melt, and clean parking areas and gas pump zones.
  • Refill outside towel holders and replenish window washer fluid as necessary.
  • Timely removal of trash from both interior and exterior areas.
  • Assist in training new staff members as required.
  • Perform other assigned duties as necessary.

At the Register:

  • Manage lottery ticket transactions to verify wins or facilitate purchases.
  • Accurately operate the cash register, scanning products and reporting discrepancies in cash levels.
  • Process promotional coupons, food stamps, cash, checks, and credit card transactions, ensuring accurate change is given and receipts are issued.
  • Package merchandise for customers in bags or boxes.

In the Kitchen:

  • Prepare food using various cooking appliances such as ovens, stoves, griddles, and microwaves.
  • Ensure ingredient freshness through proper preparation techniques like chopping and peeling.
  • Adhere to all food health and safety regulations.
  • Display food attractively and monitor expiration dates, disposing of outdated items appropriately.
  • Understand and implement proper sanitation practices, keeping the work area clean and organized.
  • Store food properly when not in use.

Work Conditions: This position offers flexible part-time schedules, primarily working in a climate-controlled environment with occasional outdoor tasks in varying temperatures. No travel is required.

Physical Requirements: This role is classified as Medium, requiring the ability to exert between 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, involving walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting.

Education/Experience: High school enrollment or graduation, with no specific prior experience required.
