Job Description

AeroShield Materials, Inc. is a collaborative team of 23 people dedicated to delivering innovative new materials for a sustainable and comfortable future.

Our mission is to develop super-insulating, transparent aerogel inserts for windows to bring state-of-the-art thermal comfort and energy efficiency into homes at an affordable price.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced VP of Manufacturing to lead the strategic scaling of our manufacturing operations, optimizing and implementing processes to achieve efficiency and quality in aerogel production.

The successful candidate will lead capital projects focused on increasing AeroShield's manufacturing capacity and quality while managing output and quality from our existing manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop a manufacturing roadmap and timelines to grow AeroShield's capabilities from prototyping capacity to first production facility to support business goals.
  2. Lead, manage, and scale AeroShield's manufacturing team, focusing on a combination of performance and team culture.
  3. Review current staffing plan for manufacturing team, refine roles, and suggest updates.
  4. Support professional development of the manufacturing team's members.
  5. Develop strong communication and processes in the manufacturing team to interface well with other teams/departments.
  6. Oversee processes, capacity planning, supply chain, and resource allocation for maximum operational efficiency and cost reduction.
  7. Develop and incorporate operational safety, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and cost control policies and programs into all manufacturing processes.
  8. Direct and participate in workforce planning to meet manufacturing and business goals.
  9. Lead capital projects to expand AeroShield's manufacturing capabilities.
Requirements

We are looking for someone with a strong technical background, hands-on experience in production and scaleup of deep tech products, and leadership experience establishing a new team to support their role.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing processes and engineering, preferably including capital projects in related industries to AeroShield.

Strong project management skills, experience working with many stakeholders, and knowledge of data management tools and statistical process control are also essential.
