Key Responsibilities
  • Transport patients, visitors, and staff within the facilities, prioritizing service needs and providing excellent customer service.
  • Coordinate activities to guide patients, visitors, and staff to desired destinations within the facilities.
  • Operate and maintain transport equipment, including stretchers, wheelchairs, and oxygen cylinders.
  • Assist with care and maintenance of transport equipment to ensure it is safe, clean, and ready for use.
  • Monitor facilities to ensure a safe and clean environment, removing unattended equipment from hallways and ensuring electrical panels, fire extinguishers, and emergency exits are accessible.
  • Complete and maintain required training, educational programs, and certification.
  • Attend meetings as required and adhere to Atrium Health and departmental policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Oral and written communication skills, organizational, typing, and strong leadership skills desirable.
  • Previous experience in a guest services or hospitality industry is desirable.
  • BLS certification within 6 months.
  • Computer and data entry skills are desirable.
Work Environment

This role requires working in an indoor/outdoor fast-paced, customer-oriented environment with lengthy periods of standing and walking. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds for moving and lifting patients, push/pull all patient transport equipment, and present a good working relationship with all departments.
