We are seeking a skilled Patient Transporter to join our team at Atrium Health. As a Patient Transporter, you will be responsible for providing safe, efficient, and courteous transportation services to patients, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Transport patients, visitors, and staff within the facilities, prioritizing service needs and providing excellent customer service.
- Coordinate activities to guide patients, visitors, and staff to desired destinations within the facilities.
- Operate and maintain transport equipment, including stretchers, wheelchairs, and oxygen cylinders.
- Assist with care and maintenance of transport equipment to ensure it is safe, clean, and ready for use.
- Monitor facilities to ensure a safe and clean environment, removing unattended equipment from hallways and ensuring electrical panels, fire extinguishers, and emergency exits are accessible.
- Complete and maintain required training, educational programs, and certification.
- Attend meetings as required and adhere to Atrium Health and departmental policies and procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Oral and written communication skills, organizational, typing, and strong leadership skills desirable.
- Previous experience in a guest services or hospitality industry is desirable.
- BLS certification within 6 months.
- Computer and data entry skills are desirable.
This role requires working in an indoor/outdoor fast-paced, customer-oriented environment with lengthy periods of standing and walking. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds for moving and lifting patients, push/pull all patient transport equipment, and present a good working relationship with all departments.
