Voca is seeking a skilled Patient Care Tech to join our team in a local contract position in Massachusetts. As a Patient Care Tech, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
Accept assignments and work under the direction of the Charge RN or designee.
Report changes in patient condition to the primary care RN immediately.
Complete assignments and adapt to changes in workload as needed.
Accurately obtain, document, and report vital signs and recheck as necessary, reporting abnormal findings to the primary RN or Charge RN.
Measure and document intake and output as needed.
Perform capillary blood glucose testing using proper technique and equipment, documenting results and reporting abnormal results to the RN.
Perform ECGs and apply NIBP, ECG electrodes, and pulse oximetry for patient monitoring.
Assist with patient transport and transfer within the department and hospital.
Respond to patient call lights and family requests, referring appropriately.
Ensure patient safety by demonstrating age-appropriate skills when assisting with nursing care activities as directed by licensed nursing personnel.
Perform duties supportive to daily living activities for patients, which do not require nursing assessment skills during performance.
Participate in unit-related tasks assigned by the Nurse Director or designee.
Attend in-service and educational programs commensurate with job responsibilities.
Contribute to unit/hospital projects aimed at improving patient care.
Maintain and support patients' rights to care, privacy, and respect.
Requirements
One year of acute care experience.
BLS certification required.
