Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at Essentia Health. As a key member of our Family Medicine and Urgent Care teams, you will provide high-quality patient care and support our healthcare professionals in delivering exceptional patient experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine patient assessments, including vital sign measurements and symptom observation, to assist in diagnosing and monitoring patient health.
  • Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and minor procedures, ensuring proper equipment preparation and patient positioning.
  • Administer prescribed medications, including injections and oral drugs, and monitor patients for any adverse reactions or side effects.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans, and assist in coordinating follow-up appointments and referrals.
  • Conduct initial patient intake processes, including gathering medical histories and updating personal information.
Requirements
  • Current registration or certification as a Medical Assistant, or completion of a Medical Assistant Program with certification required within one year of hire.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the relevant state.
