Pharmacy Technician III

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician III to join our team at Holmes Regional Medical Center. As a Pharmacy Technician III, you will play a critical role in providing quality patient care by assisting pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient records.
Key Responsibilities- Fills physician orders or stock requisitions accurately and efficiently.
- Prepares intravenous admixtures or other sterile products with precision and attention to detail.
- Replenishes medications accurately and maintains a clean and organized pharmacy environment.
- Rotates stock to ensure use before expiration date and maintains patient and department/hospital confidentiality.
- Attends pharmacy staff meetings and reads pertinent email communication, and participates in orientation, education, and training programs.
- Completes all competence/skills assessment requirements and generates reports, pick lists, and labels as required.
- Maintains logs, records, and other required documentation accurately and files documentation in appropriate locations.
- Collects data, conducts quality monitors, and completes documentation as assigned, and maintains bar-code database; packages bar code medications.
- Effectively and accurately inputs Med Rec data into OMR and ensures supplies and pharmacy stock are used appropriately to limit waste.
- Identify opportunities to reduce waste and provide cost savings, and answers the telephone, identifying self and department, and directs calls to appropriate personnel.
- Answers requests at the window, organizes and prioritizes work assignments, and demonstrates good oral and written communication.
- Keeps pharmacy areas clean, neat, and well organized, and performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Current State of Florida Pharmacy Technician registration or current State of Florida Pharmacy Intern registration required.
- National pharmacy technician certification by the PTCB or ExCPT required.
- IV admixture experience required, and computer skills to support distribution systems required.
- At least 3 years of technician experience, and availability to work long and irregular hours; includes evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
Competency required in 5 of 7 critical areas: Interdepartmental Billing, Technician staff scheduling, Specialty IV Preparation, Advanced PYXIS Functions, Pharmacy Purchasing and Receiving, Controlled Medications compliance and reconciliation, and Emergency Department Medication Reconciliation.
