Pharmacy Technician II Retail

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician II to join our team at Holmes Regional Medical Center. As a Pharmacy Technician II, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our pharmacy operations.
Key Responsibilities- Assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining drug inventory, and maintaining patient records.
- Enter prescriptions accurately and sort them based on method of delivery.
- Ensure that the correct medication is in the correct patient containers.
- Rotate stock to ensure use before expiration date.
- Restock medication dispensing areas.
- Attend pharmacy staff meetings and read pertinent email communication.
- Participate in orientation, education, and training programs.
- Maintain patient and department/hospital confidentiality.
- Select correct product and ensure that the correct amount of medication is dispensed.
- Identify and replace outdated and unusable drugs.
- Maintain logs, records, and other required documentation accurately.
- Computer skills to support distribution systems required.
- Pharmacy Technician Registration for the State of Florida or current State of Florida Pharmacy Intern registration required upon hire.
- Pharmacy technician certification by PTCB or ExCPT preferred.
- Hours may be long and irregular; includes evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
- Repetitive use of hands and fingers. Good hand and wrist dexterity to enable typing and/or computer work for 8-10 hours/day.
- Good eyesight to read labels/prescriptions, graduated containers of fluids, to count tabs, capsules.
- Good hearing to understand phone instructions/orders, customers and those in which the position depends.
- Ability to work in noisy distracting atmosphere, to handle frequent interruptions, to adapt to changes in workload and work schedule.
- Handle large volumes of work for long periods of time.
- Walk, bend, stoop, twist, sit, stand for long periods of time, 8-10 hours a day.
- May require lifting and carrying light loads (Up to 40 lbs).
