Pharmacy Technician II

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician II to join our team at Holmes Regional Medical Center. As a Pharmacy Technician II, you will play a vital role in providing quality patient care by assisting pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient records.
Key Responsibilities- Fills physician orders, medication carts, or stock requisitions accurately and efficiently.
- Prepares intravenous admixtures or other sterile products with precision and attention to detail.
- Replenishes medications in Pyxis units and delivers medication and supplies to patient care and ancillary areas as needed.
- Rotates stock to ensure use before expiration date and restocks medication and IV dispensing areas.
- Attends pharmacy staff meetings and reads pertinent email communication to stay informed and up-to-date.
- Participates in orientation, education, and training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Maintains patient and department/hospital confidentiality and adheres to all relevant policies and procedures.
- Identifies and replaces outdated and unusable drugs and generates reports, pick lists, and labels as required.
- Maintains logs, records, and other required documentation accurately and files documentation in appropriate locations.
- Collects data, conducts quality monitors, and completes documentation as assigned.
- Maintains bar-code database and packages bar-code medications.
- Completes patient Medication Reconciliations accurately and efficiently.
- Current State of Florida Registration Pharmacy Technician registration or current State of Florida Pharmacy Intern registration required.
- National pharmacy technician certification by the PTCB or ExCPT preferred.
- IV admixture experience preferred.
- Computer skills to support distribution systems required.
- Availability to work long and irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
- Repetitive use of hands and fingers.
- Good hand and wrist dexterity to enable typing and/or computer work for 8-10 hours/day.
- Good eyesight to read labels/prescriptions, graduated containers of fluids, to count tabs, capsules.
- Good hearing to understand phone instructions/orders, customers, and those in which the position depends.
- Ability to work in noisy distracting atmosphere, to handle frequent interruptions, to adapt to changes in workload and work schedule.
- Handle large volumes of work for long periods of time.
- Walk, bend, stoop, twist, sit, and stand for long periods of time, 8-10 hours a day.
- May require lifting and carrying light loads (Up to 40 lbs.).
- Ability to work independently.
- Patience, positive attitude, cooperation, works well with others, friendly, problem-solving skills, analytical skills, attention to detail - thoroughness.
- Attention to accuracy, organized, good communications skills (orally and in writing), ability to handle and work well under stress.
- Good listening skills, good social skills, perform multiple tasks at one time, and are able to make quick accurate decisions.
- Ability to evaluate medical literature.
