Job Summary:

Mercer University seeks an innovative leader to serve as the inaugural Program Director of the Doctor of Occupational Therapy program. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and leadership of the program in areas such as accreditation, curriculum, faculty recruitment and development, student recruitment and admissions, program evaluation, quality improvement, strategic planning, and budget management.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the program's strategic plan and ensure its alignment with the College's and University's goals.
  • Lead the program's accreditation efforts and ensure compliance with ACOTE standards.
  • Recruit, develop, and manage a team of faculty members to deliver high-quality education and research.
  • Develop and implement curriculum that meets the needs of the profession and the program's accreditation standards.
  • Manage the program's budget and ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote the program and the College.

Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in occupational therapy or a related field.
  • Active, unrestricted license to practice as an occupational therapist in Georgia or immediate eligibility.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in occupational therapy, with at least 3 years in a full-time academic appointment with teaching responsibilities at the postbaccalaureate level.
  • Experience in program leadership, accreditation, and budget management.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
