Patient Care Technician PRN

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Patient Care Technician to join our team at the Orthopedic & Spine Hospital (TOSH). As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the multidisciplinary Patient Management Team.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare treatment rooms for examination and assist with medical procedures and examinations
- Conduct patient interviews, measure vital signs, and perform phlebotomy
- Perform EKGs, dressing changes, and administer approved medications
- Research and scribe for physicians as needed
- Order and accession clinical laboratory or processing center orders
- Perform administrative tasks, including registering and scheduling patients for appointments and procedures
- High School Diploma or equivalent, plus successful completion of a PCT course within 3 months of hire
- Healthcare experience, patient care experience, and certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant or Military Corpsman are preferred
- Excellent communication skills, basic computer skills, strong work ethics, and accountability are essential
