Job Summary

UNC Health Care is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician II to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician II, you will play a vital role in supporting our pharmacists by reviewing, compounding, and dispensing medications. This is a full-time position with a salary range of $24.63 per hour.

Responsibilities
  • Compounds and/or prepares hazardous medications, including high-risk medication processes, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
  • Delivers medications to patient areas and returns unused medications to the pharmacy.
  • Documents pharmaceutical activities, including patient billing and quality control requirements.
  • Responds to customer requests for assistance with pharmacy services.
  • Operates and supports automated dispensing technology to supply correct medications for individual patients.
  • Orders, receives, restocks, and rotates inventory, and completes expiration date management.
  • Assists with training of new employees and contributes to process improvement projects.
  • Completes regulatory compliance inspections of medication storage areas.
Requirements
  • Registration with the NC Board of Pharmacy (unless enrolled in a PharmD program).
  • CPhT certification from PTCB or ExCPT from NHA (unless enrolled in a PharmD program).
  • Prior pharmacy technician experience is preferred.
