About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician II to join our team at UNC Health Care. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will play a vital role in supporting our pharmacists in reviewing, compounding, and dispensing medications.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and compound IV medications from a Laminar Flow Hood or Biological Safety Cabinet
  • Comply with and perform best practices as outlined in USP < 797 > and < 800 >
  • Perform pharmaceutics infusion compounding activities
  • Perform sanitation, maintenance, and tracking of infusion equipment and the IV room
  • Clean and sterilize equipment, instruments, and cleanroom according to procedures
  • Pass annual proficiency and certification checks: gowning, aseptic technique, labeling, facilities sanitation, equipment cleaning
  • Assist in the setup of the compounding room, equipment, and supplies for the preparation of compounded sterile solutions, using an aseptic technique
Requirements
  • Registration with the NC Board of Pharmacy (unless enrolled in a PharmD program)
  • CPhT from PTCB or ExCPT from NHA (unless enrolled in a PharmD program)
  • Prior pharmacy technician experience is preferred
