Job Overview

As a Case Manager with the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants, you will play a vital role in helping refugee clients achieve self-sufficiency through employment-related activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized case management plans to support clients in achieving their employment goals.
  • Provide training and support to clients on employability and self-sufficiency skills.
  • Conduct referrals to agency services to remove barriers to self-sufficiency.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and databases.
  • Submit written reports as required.
  • Collaborate with employers and community partners to provide cross-cultural support and education.
  • Orient clients to community resources and support systems.
  • Assess client experience, skills, and limitations to identify suitable job opportunities.
  • Assist clients in filling out employment applications, setting up interviews, and accompanying them to interviews or arranging transportation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and database programs.
  • Good sense of humor and diplomatic manner.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the mission of USCRI and interest in contributing to the long-term success of a local nonprofit organization.
  • Valid driver's license and insurance, and a reliable motor vehicle.
  • Demonstrated support of USCRI's values, including respect for others, maintenance of confidential information, and appreciation of a multicultural workplace.
Training and Development
  • Satisfactory completion of USCRI's Orientation and Training.
  • Additional training as identified by supervisor or Human Resources.
Physical Demands
  • Manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity.
  • Repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands.
  • Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying.
  • Quantitative/mathematical ability.
