We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Services Representative to join our General Surgery team at EvergreenHealth. As a key member of our clinical operations team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our patients and healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities- Pre-Registration and Scheduling: Coordinate patient scheduling, including creating and managing appointments, rescheduling, and cancellations.
- Multi-Line Telephone System Management: Manage incoming and outgoing calls, directing patients with urgent symptoms to appropriate clinical staff for screening.
- Insurance Verification and Enrollment: Verify and set up active and contracted insurance coverage, educate patients on co-insurance and co-pay, and enroll patients on our patient portal.
- Message and Queue Management: Monitor and respond to patient requests, questions, and concerns in a timely manner.
- Medical Records and Referrals: Request, confirm, and validate interpreter services, prepare and send patient outreach communications, and manage incoming referrals.
- Cash Handling and Patient Collections: Collect copayments and maintain accurate records.
- Administrative Support: Perform various administrative tasks, including filing, faxing, scanning, and photocopying.
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: 1 year of experience in a customer service role.
- Skills: Excellent interpersonal communication skills, problem-solving ability, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge: Basic medical terminology, insurance coverage, and electronic medical records (EMR) experience preferred.
