Role Summary:

We are in search of a skilled Project Quality Control Supervisor who possesses strong leadership capabilities and a dedicated work ethic. As a Project Quality Control Supervisor, you will be instrumental in leading and ensuring the successful and timely execution of complex, high-value heavy civil projects from the pre-construction phase through to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote and enforce company Safety and Quality Policies and Procedures, ensuring alignment with The Middlesex Corporation's Core Values - "Safety First, In Everything We Do" and "Quality In All We Offer".
  • Engage in daily operational leadership and decision-making as the subject matter expert for all project quality management functions, including self-performed work and materials provided by suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Provide ongoing technical input related to quality control for construction planning, design interpretation, and the development of efficient construction methods and quality control processes.
  • Oversee and schedule all necessary quality testing, inspections, and documentation, including third-party quality control services.
  • Manage quality processes as per contract documents, specifications, and engineering calculations for various work activities.
  • Lead efforts to ensure that construction complies with quality standards and that work quality is documented through precise record-keeping.
  • Develop and implement a project-specific Quality Control Plan that aligns with company policies and industry best practices, conducting periodic audits to verify compliance.
  • Acquire a thorough understanding of project contract documents and maintain relevant industry standards for project access.
  • Establish a Quality Control orientation program for project team members to familiarize them with the QC Management Plan and conduct relevant training.
  • Facilitate the communication of project quality control requirements to staff, including field crews and supervision.
  • Assist in document management to ensure all project documents are current and reflect any necessary changes.
  • Support the procurement and management of subcontractors and suppliers to ensure quality-related scope of work is captured in agreements.
  • Prepare and submit accurate project status reports related to Quality Control.
  • Manage the project submittal process to ensure timely receipt and approval of necessary documentation.
  • Participate in the RFI process to ensure timely responses and closure.
  • Monitor project work for compliance issues and ensure corrective actions are documented and executed.
  • Oversee project close-out activities, including punch list management and transitional operations turnover.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management, or equivalent technical training and experience.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a construction quality control management role.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction industry practices and standards, along with experience in supervision, estimating, scheduling, and project reporting.
  • Familiarity with project management software systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possession or ability to obtain NETTCP Quality Assurance Technologist and USACE Construction Quality Certification.
  • Experience in heavy civil construction projects.
