Role Summary:
We are in search of a skilled Project Quality Control Supervisor who possesses strong leadership capabilities and a dedicated work ethic. This role offers a unique opportunity for professional growth within The Middlesex Corporation, a dynamic and well-respected entity in the heavy civil infrastructure domain. As a Project Quality Control Supervisor, you will be instrumental in guiding the successful and timely execution of complex, multimillion-dollar projects, overseeing all phases from pre-construction to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Champion and implement company Safety and Quality Policies, ensuring compliance with The Middlesex Corporation's Core Values: "Safety First, In Everything We Do" and "Quality In All We Offer".
- Engage in daily operational leadership and decision-making as the expert in project quality management, overseeing self-performed work and that of suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Provide continuous quality control technical guidance for construction planning, design interpretation, and the development of effective construction methods and quality control processes.
- Coordinate and schedule all necessary quality testing, inspections, and documentation, including third-party quality control services.
- Oversee quality processes in accordance with contract documents, specifications, and engineering calculations for various work activities.
- Lead efforts to ensure compliance with construction standards and maintain accurate documentation of work quality.
- Develop and execute a project-specific Quality Control Plan that aligns with company policies and industry best practices, conducting periodic audits to ensure adherence.
- Foster a comprehensive understanding of project contract documents and maintain relevant industry standards accessible to project team members.
- Implement a Quality Control orientation program for project team members, ensuring familiarity with the QC Management Plan and conducting relevant training.
- Facilitate the communication of project quality control requirements to all relevant staff, including field crews and supervisory personnel.
- Assist in managing project documentation to ensure all records are current and reflect any changes or revisions.
- Support the procurement and management of subcontractors and suppliers to ensure quality-related scopes of work are captured in agreements.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive Quality Control project status reports.
- Oversee the project submittal process to ensure timely receipt and approval of necessary documentation.
- Participate in the RFI process to ensure prompt responses and resolutions.
- Monitor project activities for compliance issues, ensuring corrective actions are implemented and documented.
- Manage project close-out processes, including punch list management and transition of system operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management, or equivalent technical training and experience.
- A minimum of two years of experience in a construction quality control management role.
- Thorough understanding of construction industry practices and standards, along with experience in supervision, estimating, scheduling, and project reporting.
- Proficiency in project management software systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Possession or ability to obtain NETTCP Quality Assurance Technologist and USACE Construction Quality Certification.
- Experience in heavy civil construction projects.
