Senior Nuclear Engineer

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Nuclear Engineer to join our team at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting radioactive waste management projects, developing implementation and project execution plans, and ensuring compliance with engineered work products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engineering controls, work procedures, and supporting documents for performing work on, testing of, or handling radioactive and/or nuclear material.
- Provide engineering support to ensure compliance with engineered work products, including updates or changes needed for work execution procedures.
- Develop engineered drawings, sketches, containment design, ESH controls, and lifting and handling diagrams to support unique and complex projects.
- Develop plans and reports, and perform environmental characterization and investigation activities pursuant to local and federal regulatory programs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science-related field and 4 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science-related field and 2 years of relevant experience.
- Currently or previously NPE qualified; or CTE/ACRS and 1 year EOOW qualified in the Nuclear Operations Program; or Watch Instructor and Refueling Facility Area Refueling Engineer and 1 year as SRE.
Preferred Skills:
- Ability to communicate well and interact with workforce and peers.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Experience with NRF processes and radiological facilities.
- Knowledgeable of environmental, radiological, and waste-related regulations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay Range: $83,130,700.00 annually.
