Commercial Lending Operations Manager

Job Summary:
The Assistant Manager, Commercial Lending Services is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of a team of Loan Coordinators, Specialists, or Portfolio Analysts. This role ensures that commercial lending relationships are serviced in a timely and efficient manner, with accurate delivery of loan documents in alignment with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and portfolio management according to procedures and regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of high-performing and engaged employees through effective people leadership practices, including regular communication of performance expectations and feedback to employees to maintain high team performance.
- Meet established department goals, update leader on all major projects, employee issues, and goal progress.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve loan department efficiency and meet quality and key performance targets.
- Oversee timely processing of payments, payoffs, timely and accurate delivery of loan documents, timely and accurate loan reviews are completed and tracked, and respond to member complaints and resolve escalated matters.
- Evaluate department procedures and guidelines to identify opportunities for improvement and implement change, while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, including CFBP.
- Assist senior leadership in the coordination and implementation of internal audits.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial lending operations in the financial services industry.
- Proven people mentorship and development skills, adept at providing frequent and valuable performance feedback to develop and build employees.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to express ideas concisely and logically.
- Ability to deliver effective stakeholder presentations to both peer and executive level audiences.
- Ability to organize, analyze, and interpret data to explain complex irregularities.
- Ability to coordinate a variety of activities and projects and prioritize work under tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and consensus-building skills with the ability to build trust and foster a collaborative spirit.
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of commercial lending processes.
- Familiarity with CreditQuest is required.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or other related fields of study is preferred.
