Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Perform routine cleaning of patient rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, and stairways in a clean, neat, and sanitary manner.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Utilize and maintain equipment properly, ensuring it is in good working condition.
  • Supply Management: Replenish supplies as needed and notify the supervisor when supplies need to be ordered.
  • Waste Management: Transport trash and hazardous waste to the appropriate disposal area.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain set quality standards when performing job duties and participate in the department's continuous quality improvement activities.
  • Communication: Introduce yourself to patients, families, and visitors, and assist visitors with direction as needed.
  • Safety and Security: Observe safety precautions at all times, report safety hazards as appropriate, and use safety signs and ropes to block off areas for cleaning.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school graduate or equivalent is preferred. Minimum of six months housekeeping experience in a healthcare facility is preferred.
  • Professional Requirements: Meet dress code standards, adhere to dress code of a specific unit, and maintain a neat and clean appearance. Complete annual educational requirements and maintain regulatory requirements, including all state, federal, and CMS regulations.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Communicate the mission, vision, core values, ethics, and goals of the facility, as well as the focus statement of the department. Work at maintaining a good rapport and a cooperative working relationship with physicians, departments, and staff.
