Job Title: Operations Manager

Eden Foods is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day activities of our facilities and production lines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food industry operations and a passion for continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operations Oversight: Manage multiple systems, projects, and their development, ensuring seamless execution and continuous improvement.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Maintain and create documentation for processes and practices, ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Team Management: Hire, train, and develop personnel, delegating authority to optimize resource utilization.
  • Scheduling and Logistics: Schedule staff time and equipment usage to accommodate material handling, storage, logistics, manufacturing, maintenance, safety, quality, and compliance needs.
  • Process Improvement: Oversee efforts to enhance teamwork and productivity, driving excellence in operations activity.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Interface with other Eden departments to achieve required outcomes, cooperation, understanding, and efficiency.
  • Policy Development: Oversee and refine processes, procedures, systems, and policies in harmony with Eden Foods' mission.
  • Continuous Improvement: Instill and inspire a 'continuous improvement' ethos in personnel and systems engaged in operations.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain up-to-date record keeping and data assemblies to meet legal and practical necessities.
  • External Relationships: Interface and improve relationships with outside companies for the company.
  • Reporting and Communication: Meet and update the Company President on issues on a routine basis.
  • Process Enhancement: Investigate and introduce process improvement measures and present suggestions/recommendations to management.
  • Operational Planning: Plan and execute enhancements in safety, efficiency, and productivity throughout company operations.
  • Warehouse and Transportation Management: Develop, direct, and synchronize the management and supervision of warehouse, transportation, and food production operations.
  • Compliance and Safety: Maintain compliance with company SOPs, procedures, and systems, in addition to federal and state regulations and guidelines.
  • Team Management: Maintain rapport with and facilitate communication within the management team.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain systematized and effective equipment maintenance programs.
  • Metrics and Data Analysis: Develop and capture metrics data that shows productivity and quality results according to standards used by the Operations Group.
  • Personnel and Equipment Planning: Determine personnel and equipment requirements for production work, anticipated volume, and the various product mixes and production lines.
  • Safety and Security: Ensure safety first. Monitor OSHA and DOT standards for safety in our operations.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure weekly cycle counts and quarterly inventories are accurate and efficient.
  • Investigation and Resolution: Investigate redlines to keep the perpetual inventory system accurate.
  • Budget Management: Oversee and manage budgets.
  • Vendor Relationship Management: Participate in staff relationship management with vendors and ensure communication channels are reliable.
Requirements:
  • Experience and Education: Experience and education necessary to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position at a food company.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of organic agriculture and food handling is a plus.
  • Teamwork Orientation: Teamwork Orientation.
  • Computer Proficiency: Computer proficiency.
  • Operational Skills: Operational skills with a willingness to learn.
  • Task Management: Ability to professionally handle multiple tasks.
