General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) has been a trusted systems integrator for over five decades, providing cutting-edge information technology (IT), cybersecurity, systems engineering, software development, training solutions, and professional services to various customers, including the Navy and the broader Department of Defense.
As a pivotal member of the GDIT team, you will have the opportunity to contribute your expertise in a role focused on the Ship Integration & Test (SI&T) Senior Installation Engineer for the Program Executive Office for Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS). This position is integral to ensuring the successful integration and testing of Aegis Combat Systems (ACS) on naval vessels during post-construction and maintenance phases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee equipment installation processes and manage documentation related to installation and cable design changes.
- Act as a liaison between shipbuilders and the Combat System Executive Agent to address equipment installation challenges and facilitate problem resolution.
- Collaborate with Aegis Test Teams to troubleshoot equipment and cable installation issues, while documenting lessons learned.
- Address fiber optic repair challenges and coordinate with Cable Technicians to ensure proper repair and testing of fiber optic cables.
- Identify and document all installation deficiencies to ensure quality and compliance.
- Assist shipyard personnel in resolving equipment installation complications.
- Work closely with the Government shock team to identify and rectify shock-related concerns.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor of Arts or Science (BA/BS) in a relevant field with 10+ years of experience as a Design Engineer/Integrator for large vessels, or 15+ years of experience in the absence of a degree.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within the larger GDIT Navy and Marine Corps Sector.
- A US DoD Secret security clearance is mandatory.
- US Citizenship is required.
Work Environment:
This position is based in the USA, with potential locations including Washington, DC, Chesapeake, VA, or Moorestown, NJ.

Salary Range:
The anticipated salary range for this position is $106,371 - $177,632, based on experience, geographic location, and contractual requirements.
