As a SI&T Senior Installation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Program Executive Office for Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS) activities.In this senior position, you will be responsible for leading a multi-disciplinary team that is geographically dispersed, focusing on engineering planning, design, integration, installation, and testing of Aegis Combat Systems (ACS) on ships during maintenance and post-construction phases.
Your primary responsibilities will include ensuring the correct installation of combat systems equipment to facilitate Combat System light-off and testing. You will also document and address design discrepancies as they arise.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee equipment installation and manage documentation for installation and cable design changes.
• Act as a liaison between shipbuilders and the Combat System Executive Agent to resolve equipment installation challenges.
• Collaborate with Aegis Test Teams to troubleshoot equipment and cable installation issues.
• Identify and document lessons learned and resolve fiber optic repair issues in coordination with Cable Technicians.
• Ensure all installation deficiencies are recognized and addressed.
• Assist shipyards in resolving equipment installation challenges.
• Work with Government shock teams to identify and rectify shock-related issues.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor of Arts or Science (BA/BS) in a relevant field along with 10+ years of experience as a Design Engineer/Integrator for large vessels, or 15+ years of experience without a degree.
• Ability to work collaboratively within the GDIT Navy and Marine Corps Sector.
• A US DoD Secret security clearance is required.
