We are seeking a dedicated full-time Interstate Sign Installation Specialist to oversee the installation and upkeep of our interstate logo signage. This role is essential in enhancing our Interstate Logo Program.

The primary responsibility of the Field Technician is to execute essential field operations tasks, which include the installation and removal of interstate logo signs and Tourist-Oriented Directional Signs (TODS). These blue signs guide motorists to essential services such as fuel, dining, lodging, camping, and attractions along the interstate. This entry-level position often requires working independently, necessitating effective management of work schedules.

What we're looking for in YOU:

  • Ability to work independently in proximity to highways.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities.
  • Capacity to lift a minimum of 80 lbs.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Possession of a current and valid driver's license.
  • Familiarity with the use and maintenance of power/manual tools, basic construction equipment, and machinery is preferred.
  • Previous experience operating a bucket truck or similar vehicle is advantageous.

A day in the life:

  • Installation and removal of interstate logo signs using a bucket truck.
  • Minor sign repairs and maintenance.
  • Vegetation management related to ground-mounted signs, including the removal of trees, brush, and weeds.
  • Participation in monthly safety meetings.
  • Organization and cleaning of warehouse and supply yard areas.
  • Traveling predominantly by vehicle, with overnight travel required.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • The primary work environment is outdoors.
  • Physical demands include lifting more than 50% of the time, pushing, reaching, seeing (reading, color distinction, acuity, depth perception, peripheral vision), sitting less than 50% of the time, standing, stooping, talking, turning, walking, and climbing up to 30 feet high.
  • Traveling and spending nights away from home is a significant part of the role.
