Job Summary

We're seeking a skilled Front Desk Agent to join our team at InterContinental Boston. As a key member of our front office team, you'll be responsible for providing exceptional guest service, handling transactions, and ensuring a seamless experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide warm and welcoming service to guests, ensuring a memorable experience from check-in to check-out.
  • Handle cash and credit transactions, as well as manage guest bookings and up-selling opportunities.
  • Stay one step ahead of guests' needs, recording and acting on their preferences, and handling their messages, requests, questions, and concerns.
  • Be a trusted contact for all guests, helping them with anything from bill issues to local knowledge, and looping in management when necessary.
  • Stay safe all the time, following our safety procedures and reporting any incidents.
  • Take pride in your appearance and place as a brand ambassador, always knowing what events and activities are on the day's schedule.
  • Jump into other ad-hoc duties when your colleagues need your help.
What We're Looking For:
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to handle guest concerns and compliments with ease.
  • Problem-solving skills that turn issues into opportunities, ensuring every guest leaves with great memories.
  • Fluency in the local language, with extra language skills a plus but not essential.
  • Literacy and tech-savviness, with a good grasp of reading, writing, basic math, and computers.
  • Flexibility, with night, weekend, and holiday shifts all part of the job.
  • A high school diploma or qualification, with a college or university degree a bonus but not essential.
  • Experience in a front desk or guest service position, with at least one year of experience ideal.
  • Physical strength, with the ability to lift, push, and pull big objects up to 50lbs (23kg).
