Position Overview

$15K Sign-On Bonus Opportunity

Role Summary: The Senior Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is responsible for training and providing technical and administrative support to team members. This role involves performing ultrasound examinations with a high level of expertise and minimal supervision while ensuring exceptional patient care and service.

Departmental Responsibilities: Assists in the smooth operation of the department by coordinating daily activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintains and cleans ultrasound equipment in accordance with departmental protocols; performs minor repairs and notifies appropriate personnel of any equipment malfunctions.
  • Provides guidance to new staff and students regarding procedures and departmental standards.
  • Advises medical staff on imaging protocols and selects the appropriate techniques for ultrasound examinations based on patient needs and software integration.
  • Ensures optimal image quality by adjusting settings for density and contrast as required.
  • Encourages a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork within the department.
  • Manages inventory and ensures that supplies are adequately stocked and organized.
  • Participates in departmental meetings and training sessions as necessary.
  • May assist in transporting patients to and from the imaging area.
  • Utilizes PACS/RIS systems to troubleshoot imaging-related issues as needed.
  • Participates in holiday shift coverage as required.

Qualifications/Requirements

Education: Equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years of college) with specialized knowledge in the field.

Experience: 3-5 years in a relevant role.

Certifications:
  • American Heart Association CPR Certification
  • ARDMS Certification
  • RVT Certification
