Position Overview

$15K Sign-On Bonus Opportunity

Role Summary: The Senior Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is responsible for orienting, training, and providing both technical and administrative support to designated personnel within the department. This role entails performing ultrasound examinations at a proficient level, ensuring patient safety and comfort without direct oversight. Exceptional customer service is a priority, with a commitment to delivering high-quality imaging services.

Departmental Responsibilities: The role includes coordinating support for daily departmental operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and clean ultrasound equipment according to established protocols; perform minor repairs and notify relevant staff of any equipment malfunctions.
  • Provide technical guidance to new staff and students regarding departmental standards and imaging protocols.
  • Determine appropriate imaging protocols for ultrasound procedures based on software systems and the presence of any identified pathologies.
  • Ensure optimal image quality by adjusting levels of density and contrast as needed.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork within the department.
  • Manage inventory and ensure adequate supply levels in the assigned area; participate in departmental meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Assist in patient transport to and from the imaging area as necessary.
  • Utilize PACS/RIS systems to troubleshoot imaging-related issues when required.
  • Participate in holiday shift coverage as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements

Education: Formal knowledge equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years of college); expertise in a specialized field is required.

Experience: 3-5 years in a relevant role.

Certifications:
  • American Heart Association CPR Certification
  • ARDMS Certification
  • RVT Certification
