Job Title: Residential Care Specialist

Job Summary:

The Residential Care Specialist at Southeastern Integrated Care LLC provides direct care to children in the residential treatment program by creating a safe and therapeutic environment. This role involves providing mental health support, documentation, and daily activities to promote self-esteem and social skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer therapeutic treatment to clients
  • Plan and supervise daily activities to build self-esteem and social skills
  • Document significant events and behavior in process notes
  • Provide direct supervision of clients
  • Administer medication (after successful completion of training and testing)
  • Plan and document visits and/or telephone calls with clients
  • Build positive relationships with clients and their families
  • Intervene to meet clients' needs and promote skill development
  • Work collaboratively with team members
  • Teach and model healthy relationships and social skills

Administrative and Training:

  • Attend and complete Sagamore's training program on crisis prevention and intervention
  • Attend other in-service training as required
  • Read and interpret documents, and write routine reports and correspondence
  • Adhere to all Southeastern Integrated Care LLC policies and procedures

Daily Living:

  • Responsible for daily living requirements for each client
  • Participate in daily milieu
  • Teach and model independent living skills
  • Assist clients with laundry, chores, and meal preparation
  • Submit maintenance requests as needed

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or four-year degree in Human Services or related field preferred
  • Minimum two years of experience working with children ages 12-17 with emotional difficulties
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record
  • Ability to respond effectively in a stressful environment

Physical Requirements:

Will frequently perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, running, stooping, bending, climbing stairs, and lifting individuals. Must maintain sufficient physical agility and stamina to intervene with violent or uncooperative clients.
