Job Summary

The Residential Care Specialist at Southeastern Integrated Care LLC provides direct care to children in the residential treatment program by creating a safe and therapeutic home-like environment. This role involves providing mental health support and documentation based on service goals and plans for each client.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer therapeutic treatment to clients
  • Plan and provide daily activities to build self-esteem and appropriate peer interaction
  • Document significant events and behavior in process notes
  • Supervise clients and ensure their safety and well-being
  • Administer medication (after successful completion of training and testing)
  • Plan and document visits and/or telephone calls with clients and their families
  • Build positive relationships with clients and their families
  • Intervene to meet the needs of clients and provide crisis support
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to provide comprehensive care
Administrative and Training
  • Attend and complete Sagamore's training program on crisis prevention, intervention, and safety
  • Participate in in-service training as required
  • Read and interpret documents, and write routine reports and correspondence
  • Adhere to all Southeastern Integrated Care LLC policies and procedures
Daily Living

Responsible for daily living requirements for each client, including:

  • Preparing meals and snacks
  • Assisting with laundry and cleaning
  • Teaching independent living skills
  • Monitoring and documenting client behavior
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred
  • Minimum of two years of experience working with children ages 12-17 with emotional difficulties
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • Ability to respond effectively in a stressful environment
  • Pass a drug screening test and extensive background check
