As a Power Electronics Specialist, you will engage in various functions related to power electronic systems, encompassing New Product Development (NPD), Return to Service (RTS), Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE), and Quality Assurance. This position entails the integration of variable frequency drives into Trane Commercial HVAC systems, alongside offering recommendations for device selection, defining application specifications, and performing qualification tests at both component and system levels. Furthermore, you will be tasked with optimizing drive/motor combinations, fine-tuning parameter settings, and addressing issues that arise in both factory and field environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Validate Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) for HVAC applications
  • Implement variable speed drives for compressors and fans
  • Connect unit-level controls and safety mechanisms to the drive
  • Enhance VFD cooling tailored to specific product requirements
  • Evaluate motor-drive compatibility and optimize the electrical system for peak performance
  • Draft specifications for electrical components
  • Conduct qualification assessments of the motor-drive assembly
  • Deliver lifecycle support, including troubleshooting
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Willingness to travel as necessary

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field

The annual compensation range for this position is between $60,000 and $105,000, with actual pay determined by experience, merit, and location.
