Weather Forecaster

Position Overview:

Gray Television, Inc. is seeking a skilled meteorologist to enhance our esteemed First Alert Weather Team. This role involves close collaboration with the Chief Meteorologist, news management, and production teams to deliver thorough weather reporting across various platforms including newscasts, digital updates, and social media.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate raw scientific data, models, and pertinent information to formulate precise weather forecasts for our audience.
• Craft engaging and relatable weather presentations suitable for broadcast, streaming, and digital platforms.
• Identify and articulate the significant weather events of the day to a diverse audience.
• Monitor and accurately predict severe weather conditions.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of years of experience in broadcast meteorology is preferred.
• Proficient in operational radar and familiar with the TWC MAX system.
• Bachelor's degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
• Possession of seals from the National Weather Association and/or American Meteorological Society is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Willingness to adapt to varying schedules and work shifts due to the unpredictable nature of weather.
• Strong ability to produce written weather content for digital platforms.
