Job Summary

The Director of Budget Planning and Management is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the university's budget, cost allocations, recharge centers, and budget and financial activity presentations. This role reports directly to the President and works closely with the Vice President for Administration and CFO to implement budget and fiscal management policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement budget and fiscal management policies
  • Oversee budget planning and management processes
  • Manage cost allocations and recharge centers
  • Prepare and present budget and financial activity reports
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to achieve strategic goals
Requirements
  • Advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible management experience in institutional budgeting and finance
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Strong analytical and technical skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters in Business or Accounting degree
  • Experience in Higher Education
  • Experience within the California State University system
  • Experience using PeopleSoft
  • Experience using AI and automation application knowledge
