Working with its members and the CDI, the Association assists its members' compliance with California laws and regulations; helps maintain a healthy, fair, and competitive surplus line marketplace in California; and strives to protect the interests of California insurance consumers.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Budget Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in budget management, financial planning, and reporting.

The Budget Specialist will be responsible for developing budgets and cash flow forecasts, ensuring accuracy in budgeting processes, and providing strategic financial insights.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide day-to-day financial guidance for the organization and departments.
  • Develop and manage the annual budget process, including coordination with department heads to gather budgetary input.
  • Monitor budget performance, analyze variances, and report on financial performance against budgeted goals.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for budget adjustments based on financial performance and business needs.
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior management.
  • Conduct financial analysis and forecasting to support strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and make improvements as necessary.
  • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment, providing training and support as needed.
  • Monitor changes in legal, regulatory, and administrative environments and implement changes in procedures as needed to maintain compliance while maximizing operational and financial results.
Qualifications:
  • Must be a California resident.
  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university; with Master's degree preferred.
Working Conditions:
  • Full-time position, Monday through Friday.
  • Must be able to work during core business hours.
  • Office-based with occasional travel required for meetings or site visits.
